Minor League Boxscores 4/7/12

Triple-A: Pawtucket 4, IronPigs 1 (f/7); IronPigs 3, Pawtucket 2 (f/7)

Double Header today. Game one Derrick Mitchell went 1-3, no other prospects played. Game two, Dom Brown went 1-2 with the go-ahead, 2-RBI hit. Jeremy Horst pitched a perfect sixth inning, Phillippe Aumont closed and gave up two walks but no hits to earn the save. 

Double-A: Reading 4, Portland 1

David Buchanan started, threw seven innings with two hits and nine strikeouts. Gave up one walk and no runs. All in all really impressive performance by the 22 year old. Sebastian Valle went 3-4, Jiwan James went 1-3 with an RBI triple, Tyson Gillies and Cesar Hernandez both went 0-4, and Leandro Castro went 2-4 with a stolen base and caught stealing. Perfect inning by Justin Friend to get the save.

Hi-A: Clearwater 8, Dunedin 7

Edgar Duran, Jim Murphy and Kyle Lafrenz all had a pair of RBIs. D’Arby Myers knocked in a run, too, and Cody Asche went 2-4. Both Asche and Myers had errors in the field though. Jesse Biddle started, threw four innings giving up four hits, three walks, three runs (one earned) and five Ks. Jose Contreras pitched a perfect inning.

Single-A: Greenville 11, Lakewood 6

Gauntlett Eldemire went 0-4, Aaron Altherr was 1-5, Maikel Franco was 2-4, Kyrell Hudson was 1-4 with a 2-RBI double, Tyler Greene was 1-3. Hudson made a throwing error. Mike Nesseth started and gave up six runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings. Eldemire, Greene and Carlos Perdomo all had stolen bases.
