Coming into Friday’s game against Portland, the Reading Phillies (67-55) were confident: they had one of their better pitchers, 24 year old Tyler Cloyd (seen in picture), starting for them and the team they were playing was 23 games under the .500 mark. Their cleanup hitter, right fielder Brent Cleven, came into the game riding an eight game hitting streak, and it looked to be an easy win against the struggling Portland Sea Dogs.
